In 2004, shortly after the release of Know / Feel (what would be an award winning album) the recording-sessions for what would become "COUNT THE BETTER DAYS" began. From the beginning co-singer and guitarist Mischa Lelieveld was closely involved to the process. During the sessions we decided to not only share the studio but also share the stage. But not only Mischa reached a helping hand...Hennie van Lunteren, bassist of the Deventer folkgroup VisAge plays Accordeon on "Pourin'rain in a Desert" and ex-Wild Oat drummer Sja'ko Visser plays...what do you think?... Drums on Ride the Waves and Deep Inside / Sunset on Lonelystreet.Mind the three live recordings made at the show "VerseNoten" on Radio Alkmaar. I don't think I ever played these songs any better...Making "Count the better Days" became a tough job in the end. I had a lot of technical but most of all personal setbacks that made it hard to continue sometimes. But, at last, here it is! Fourteen beautiful songs. That's more that one hour of original music!Like we say in Holland, okey... freely translated...All what's good comes slowly..The songs on COUNT THE BETTER DAYS are:1 Sunlight in your Eyes2 Rollin' Downhill3 Ride the Waves4 Pourin' rain in a Desert5 Big pile of Laundry6 Downtown7 Count the Better Days8 Dawning of another Day9 The sun inside our Head10 Deep inside / Sunset on Lonelystreet11 On my Way (live)12 Light caught in Clouds (live)13 The Big Waiting (live)14 My Klira sings "Count the Better Days" (instrumental)All songs (c) Martin van de Vrugt 1984-2006The album is completed in loving memory of Dinie van der Luit - Sandberg"You are like the sea"
